I had the privilege of being invited to come and be a part of the Convo Convoy event held in Brisbane to help bring awareness to the R U OK? Organisation. This wonderful charity helps to bring awareness for suicide prevention in Australia and is inspiring people to meaningfully connect and support those struggling with life. They are encouraging all of us to be asking those around us ‘Are you OK?’ encouraging everyone that we all have what it takes to ask this simple yet very important question!
R U OK? DAY is Australia’s national day of action and a reminder to all Australians that you’ve got what it takes to have a life changing conversation. Today on the 14th September 2017 – National R U OK? DAY we should be encouraged to start these conversations as a reminder to keep them going all year round. If every Australian takes the time to ASK, LISTEN, ENCOURAGE ACTION and CHECK IN when someone around them is struggling, we’ll move closer to our vision of a world where we are all connected and are protected against suicide.
FOUR EASY STEPS:
1.) Ask R U OK?
3.) Encourage action
4.) Check in
